Spectroscopy experiments such as modulation excitation spectroscopy (MES) that characterize the transient responses of catalytic materials and determine the kinetics and mechanisms of the catalytic process. Reaction cells with low “dead volume” are needed to reduce the amount of time for introduction and removal of reactants and products from the cell.
The Reece Lab at Harvard University have demonstrated that this exchange can be achieved in under 4 seconds at high flow rates, using a low-volume high temperature reaction chamber from Harrick.
