Resolving transient responses of catalyst systems using a low-volume DRIFTS reactor

A detailed understanding of the reaction kinetics for solid-gas heterogeneous catalysis aids the design of future catalyst systems for efficient chemical production and energy production. Modulation excitation spectroscopy (MES) combined with Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS) is a technique that has potential to uncover insights into the transient responses of catalyst systems.

The Reece Lab at Harvard University have demonstrated the technique using a low-volume high temperature reaction chamber from Harrick.
